I am sure you have read that I host blogs for free and that you get tons of features and things choose from. My site offers you plugins and templates that I have collected to allow you to advertise using feeds and inline banners–this is how I make my money because the services are free of charge. But have you ever wanted to be in Total control of your blog universe? The following are some steps you can take to own your very own blog or your very own personal website and make money with google adsense (and others) on them!

Okay, to get your own domain name for a very cheap prices I would recommend Bluehost because they are the ones that host my websites (vitalblogs.com, quicksblog.com and QuicksBuy.com). Once you have made your domain with Bluehost (or other) then Proceed to choosing your site templates. You could always go online and search for free templates or use Content Management Systems (CMS) to help run your entire site. Some CMS that I know of are: Joomla and Mambo. But you could always find free ones online or use the ones that BlueHost can auto-install for you (a lot to choose from) under the Fatastico icon in the c-panel.

By having a domain name for use, you can dramatically increase your revenue with google adsense. Domain names can be very simple to remember for visitors and can focus on any topic or idea you want to blog about (or what your site, not neccessarily a blog, will be about) and you don’t have to be a blogger that has restrictions applied to you by your blog hoster (Vitalblogs tries to not restrict you as much). I personally have a couple of sites that have very short names: Quicksbuy.com, quicksblog.com, vitalblogs.com, and bigtimegamers.net. By having a domain name it means you will have overall control of what applications and software are installed on it (wordpress, joomla, etc). As you can tell on my sites, they use different templates and CMS that I have found to make a community site like this and BTG.net

Well, once you have your site running and configured I recommend you start placing google ads in relevant places on your site. Header, centered and side ads work the best because they focus on where your visitors may look at more often, therefore increasing the chance of a visitor clicking your advertisement. By using adsense or any other type of free advertising program you could make real easy money. I have heard of people making over 10k a month by this. Currently I am not that high in profits but I do get some extra spendable money just from advertising with these type of programs. You could also use Pay per Play ads that give you money for each and every visitor that visits your site. It is a new form of advertising that can lead to huge profits. With PPP ads it is entirely possible that you can make higher profits than google adsense, because with every visit rather than a user click on a link, ad, or whatever, they hear an ad. First of all, lets get into the subject of the audience. If you are reading this, you were either told by someone or you found this site on a search engine. Well, there are many other ways to get your name out there. Right now, this site isn’t much since it was created approximately 17 days ago. Google doesn’t like us yet; but don’t fret if you just started a site. All you need to do is keep on putting new custom content every day and going out and promoting your site to others websites and your friends (they will eventually tell their friends, and so on). Take into mind that a website is like a toy, people won’t buy it unless you do your share of marketing for it.

Apart from that, to make any profit on a website in its first stages you will need some sort of free way to make money. Nothing is better than advertising (and I DONT mean POP-UPS!). Advertising is very simple to get into, but the process to get yourself some extra spending money can be hard. As always, you might start out making 50 cents a day (this is alright if you are a new website), but you have to always aim higher and tell others about your site. Post on another website telling it’s users about what your site is about (Every site can bring you a visitor). In no time (well, depends on how well you do this), you will get a large volume of visitors, and even better if they keep on coming back. The more visitors the more chance you have that one will click on an ad and earn you a dollar for that single click (imagine 1oo clicks, 1000 clicks, maybe even 10000 clicks a day or a month). Lets continue our subject with the topic of money. To start your website you will need to buy a hosting package (I use BlueHost), it will cost you about 100 dollars for one year. But it comes bundled with so many things that I didn’t know about when I first started BigTimeGamers.net.

When you get your website up and running, remember that you can always make money from your site to pay off that bill of 90-some dollars (with advertising). It is inevitable that you will pay it off, you have 12 months to do it (you can probably get 100 off of advertising in 2 months when you start out). So, making a website basically pays for it’s own self, and there is always the possibility that you will make an income from it…so I would say get a domain now! One more thing, when buying a domain name, shorter ones will be worth more in future (VitalBlogs is made up of two words = GOOD). This not only makes it easy to remember for your visitors, but will give you a huge profit whenever you decide you want to sell your website (I haven’t done this, so I can’t give you any tips).
